This week on Swaggertown…

WOW! It’s been a while. I’m not much of a blogger and I’m not the greatest at this social media thing but I’m trying. It’s already been a pretty great summer and we’ve had some really fun events, including Brew-B-Que at Frog Alley, a great fundraiser for a local swim club, Glen Hills Swim Club, and a bunch of private parties.

If I’ve seen you this season, thank you so much and I’m so excited that I get to continue sharing my food and passion with you. If I haven’t, I know you’re busy and I’m doing my best to stay available for everyone and have a variety of pop ups and public events that you can come see me at. This coming weekend, it’ll be great to be back at Stella’s Creamery and Cakes at 2013 State Street in Schenectady. Those guys really rock and have been getting a lot of new traction in the local food scene. I’m hoping I can keep contributing to getting some more of you all hooked on Stella’s as well as ride the wave a little bit.

So, a little about my personal life right now - I’m sure you all know I went back to corporate world since it’s tough to live off of a pop up tent in Upstate NY winters, but I’m slowly working to remedy that. Fortunately, I’m much happier not at the ol’ General and I still have the flexibility to pursue Swaggertown. But, ya know, a founder’s life isn’t easy. I’m trying to bootstrap my scale with Swaggertown. I’ve got an enclosed trailer that I want to convert to a food trailer, but that takes time and work and money. I want to take on more events, but that takes time and I still need to balance being a husband, an employee somewhere else, and managing to sleep too. I’ll say it here, but I have a tough time saying it anywhere else, I need help. Cheap help. Free help, if you will. And guidance. And money. Lol. But who doesn’t need those things. We learn and grow every day and I’m still so blessed to live the life I live and build this beautiful business and community of Texas BBQ in Upstate NY.

In the spirit of what I love, I just want to thank everyone for their support and for sticking with me on this journey. Even though I don’t post every week, even though I don’t serve BBQ every week, and even though I don’t get to reach out to every person reading this and say thank you every week, trust that I am so happy you’re here.

Love and Barbecue,

Swaggy (some people have been calling me this and I love it) @ Swaggertown Smoke
